Algae & Algae Società Agricola r.l. was established in Italy as an agricultural company, enabling access to national tax reliefs and incentives.
November 2020 – Institutional Support
The Office of the Mayor of Puglia issued a formal Letter of Support for the project.

A kickoff meeting was held with regional environmental authorities, who confirmed that no Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was required, as the project complies with all regulations.
A detailed Autorizzazione Unica application was submitted for Phase 1 of the project, covering 2,000 Sm³/h of biomethane generation capacity.
September 2021 – Capitalization
The company was capitalized to the extent of €5 million.
July 2022 – Sustainability Report
Monviso (Agroenergia Consortium) carried out a carbon intensity analysis of the project, confirming a 98% reduction in COâ‚‚ emissions compared to fossil methane.
This report was formally recognized by the Italian State.
August 2024 – Autorizzazione Unica
The Autorizzazione Unica (construction and operation permit) was granted by the Italian authorities for Phase 1 of the project.
The approval process lasted 2.5 years and involved review by 38 governmental departments, granting authorization for full-scale construction.

The company was awarded a 15-year state-backed Feed-in Tariff (FiT) under the Italian Renewable Gas Plan (EU-co-financed), covering a total reference value of €247 million for Phase 1.
January – September 2025 – Substrate Supply Contracts
Multiple contracts were signed to secure agricultural substrates (residues and manures) covering the full feedstock needs of Phase 1.
These contracts provide five years of supply, supported by framework agreements with Italy’s two largest farmer cooperatives — each representing more than 5,000 members in Puglia — ensuring long-term security at 125% of required volumes.
July 2025 – Independent Technical Report
